Matt Garman
CEO, AWSMatt joined Amazon in 2006 and is currently the CEO of AWS. He sits on Amazon’s executive senior leadership team, known as the S-team. He has held several leadership positions at AWS during his time with Amazon. Matt previously served as Senior Vice President of the Sales, Marketing, and Global Services organization as well as Vice President of the Amazon EC2 and Compute Services businesses at AWS for more than 10 years. He started at Amazon when AWS first launched and served as one of the first product managers, helping to launch the initial set of AWS services. Prior to Amazon, Matt spent time in product management roles at early-stage internet startups.
Peter DeSantis
SVP, Utility Computing, AWSPeter joined Amazon in 1998. Prior to joining Amazon Web Services, Peter worked in various other groups within Amazon including leading the distributed systems engineering group. In March 2006, Peter joined Amazon Web Services as the General Manager of Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2). Peter led the EC2 team through the 2006 initial launch of the service and went on to lead a number of AWS products focused on compute and networking until he accepted the role of Vice President, AWS Global Infrastructure in October 2016. In January of 2018, Peter expanded his role to include AWS Customer Support. From February 2020 to June 2021, Peter held the role of Senior Vice President of AWS Global Infrastructure and Customer Support. Peter earned a bachelor of arts with a dual major in Economics and Computer Science from Dartmouth College.
Dr. Werner Vogels
CTO, Amazon.comAs one of the forces behind Amazon’s approach to cloud computing, Werner is responsible for driving the company’s customer-centric technology vision. He is passionate about helping young businesses reach global scale and transforming enterprises into fast-moving digital organizations. Werner joined Amazon in 2004 from Cornell University where he was a distributed systems researcher, and he holds a PhD from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. On his blog, All Things Distributed, Werner shares thought leadership content on a range of topics, including his annual technology predictions.
Dr. Ruba Borno
VP, Global Specialist & Partner Organization, AWSRuba leads the Global Specialists & Partner organization. She is responsible for ensuring AWS customers benefit from a dynamic AWS Partner Network community, with over 130,000 partners from more than 200 countries, who provide innovative solutions to technical and business challenges. This includes AWS Marketplace and AWS Data Exchange, which help customers find, subscribe, and govern third-party software, data, and professional services. She is also responsible for the AWS specialists who provide customers with expertise on strategic services, segments, and verticals at AWS. Prior to joining AWS, Ruba held several leadership positions over the course of her six-year tenure with Cisco. She holds a PhD and a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Michigan.
Dr. Swami Sivasubramanian
VP, Data and AI, AWSSwami oversees all AWS AI and data services. His team’s mission is to help organizations leverage the power of AI and data to solve their most urgent business needs. Since joining Amazon in 2005, Swami has also led the AWS analytics and databases portfolio as well as helped to build AWS services including Amazon S3, Amazon CloudFront, Amazon RDS, and Amazon DynamoDB. In September 2023, Swami joined the Amazon senior leadership team, or S-team. Swami has been awarded more than 250 patents and authored 40 peer-reviewed scientific papers and journals. He is also a member of the National AI Advisory Committee, which is tasked with advising the president of the United States and the National AI Initiative Office on topics related to the National AI Initiative.
