Tuesday, November 11 10am-6pm

Are you a DevOps ninja who wants to test your AWS skills? Can you design resilient infrastructure that will withstand outages and attacks? Do you want to compete with other nerds in a battle for fame and glory? (Note: by fame and glory, we mean high-fives and stickers.)

AWS GameDay pits technical teams against each other in a live competition to assault the infrastructure and interrupt the workloads of your opponents, while keeping your team's systems online and functional.

Make the cloud your battlefield and learn practical infrastructure crisis management, high availability design, system monitoring and alerting, and IT security in a fast paced, high stakes, game of skill.

You will build a distributed cloud based system, it will be broken horribly by your competition, and then you will work to repair and stabilize the system in real-time. Network with other DevOps ninjas to pick up new tricks and strategies, and work with AWS architects to help solidify your designs and breathe life back into your systems.

GameDay is open to anyone with an AWS re:Invent conference pass, but signups are limited to the first 250 players. Food and beverages will be offered throughout the day.

Do I need DevOps experience to participate?

DevOps experience is highly recommended, but is not required. AWS experience is a must.

I've already registered for re:Invent, how do I sign up for GameDay?

Log in to your account and add it to your agenda.

Do I need to have a team to sign up?

No, teams will be assigned at the beginning of the Gameday event.

What type of system will we be building?

The specifics of the system will be released at the Gameday event, but it is a good idea to be familiar with EC2, SQS, SNS, Python, and the AWS CLI tools.

What do I need to bring?

Just your laptop and an AWS account. We will supply the power, Internet, refreshments and AWS credits.
