Almost! You must scan in at least 10 minutes before the beginning of the session for any sessions that you have a reserved seat in to keep your spot. We release unclaimed seats 10 minutes prior to the session to those waiting in line.
No, you do not need to reserve a seat for the keynote. Keynote seating is handled on a first come, first served basis.
The most popular sessions are repeated throughout the conference, so please be sure to check if the session you are looking for is offered at another time. Also, we suggest adding yourself to the waitlist for any sessions you would like to attend. This way, if spots open up, you will be added automatically. We also reserve a certain number of seats in each breakout for walk-up attendees, so if you don’t get off the waitlist and still want to attend, get to the session early, and you may be able to get in as a walk-up.
No, it is not. As long as you are registered as a general attendee for re:Invent, you can reserve a seat.
Yes! There is a How to re:Invent episode on reserved seating that talks about all the key things to keep in mind while you make your way through the session catalog.
Sorry to hear that you were unable to get into the sessions you’re interested in!
The most popular sessions are repeated throughout the week, so please be sure to check if the session you are looking for is offered at another time. Also, we suggest adding yourself to the waitlist for any sessions you would like to attend. This way, if spots open up, you will be added automatically. We also reserve a certain number of seats in each session for walk-up attendees, so if you don't get off the waitlist and still want to attend, get to the session early, and you may be able to get in as a walk-up. There will also be session scheduler experts onsite who can help you fill in any gaps in your schedule once you arrive.
There are likely still seats available in some sessions, and you should add yourself to the waitlists for sessions that you are hoping to attend. The reserved seating launch time is selected to accommodate the majority of attendees.
Waitlists will be cleared to free up time on your calendar so that you can book a session with available seats. Any sessions that you were waitlisted for will be moved to the “Your Interests” section.
We do reserve a portion of seats in each session for walk-up attendees, so if you still want to attend, get to the session early, and you may be able to get in as a walk-up. We also release unclaimed seats 10 minutes prior to the session to those waiting in line. There will also be session scheduler experts onsite who can help you fill in any gaps in your schedule once you arrive.
The expansion of the re:Invent campus comes with the need for additional travel time between venues. In previous years, we have strongly recommended 60 minutes of travel time between venues, but only required 30. This has led to some customer frustration once onsite because even with a reserved seat, 30 minutes is not enough time to get your session. We have what we call the “10 minute rule” for reserved seating: those with reserved seats must scan into their session no later than 10 minutes before the session starts. At 10 minutes, we release all reserved seats so we can begin filling open seats with the walk-up line. This means attendees truly have 20 minutes to get between venues to claim their reserved seat. This is not enough time. So this year, we are implementing a mandatory 60 minutes between sessions in different venues.
Safety & Security
The safety and security of attendees joining us for re:Invent is always a top priority. We have a substantial security team that partners with local, state, and federal agencies on the ground in Las Vegas as well as with security from our conference venues. We continually reevaluate our security posture and response plans in light of emerging threats.
Implementing additional security measures is a reasonable precautionary step for the safety and security of all re:Invent attendees. These measures allow security personnel to quickly identify potential safety concerns in the least intrusive manner while maintaining an enjoyable conference.
Note that while you are on re:Invent campus grounds, you and your belongings may be subject to random search. We may ask you to leave the re:Invent campus grounds if your behavior causes us concern for the safety or security of other attendees.
Yes, with the exception of the re:Play party. See the question below.
